We are always looking for the right people ...

Q. - How do my qualifications match up with what Lougee is looking for?
A. - We hire first, based upon attitude and ability to learn. Prior insurance experience is mandatory, but willingness to learn new skills is also critical. Having been a buyer of insurance, or having managed the insurance on a fleet of vehicles, is not the same skillset we are looking for. We will identify the level of training required in bringing a potential employee up to our technical standards. Once we have evaluated these prerequisites, we will arrange for an interview at a mutually convenient time. Finally, stability in prior employment history is also critical to our mutual success. If you have never been employed for longer than two years with one employer, another candidate will likely gain preference over your candidacy for employment.

Q. - What are the job positions currently available with the agency?
A. - We are always looking for qualified candidates! While we do not hire everyone that approaches us, we have a variety of needs that allow us to be quite flexible for those with the right experience and skill sets. If you are looking for employment in the near future, please drop us an e-mail at the address below. We will try to respond to you within 48 hours of your inquiry. Don’t put it off; we’re waiting to hear from you!

Q. - What forms of insurance does the agency place for it’s clients?
A. - Our agency has been placing Property and Casualty Insurance; Life, Accident & Health Insurance; and Bonds formally since 1967 and well before that when Edwin Lougee was operating as a self-employed broker from within another office. We have developed extensive expertise in covering affluent personal insurance clients with unusual and extensive insurance requirements. Consequently, the majority of our clients fall into this category, though we still write over 25% of our business in the commercial insurance segment of business. We are strongest in these disciplines.

Q. - What sort of pay scales can I expect at Lougee Insurance Agency, Inc.?
A. - Every candidate is different. Our candidates find our compensation scales to be liberal in comparison to our competitors on the South Shore. What we offer you will depend upon the hourly commitment you wish to make, the position you are seeking, and whether you are looking to work in sales, administrative functions, or in client services. Benefits are also liberal with most costs paid entirely by the agency. Whether you qualify for these benefits is determined by state and federal laws and the hours you work.

We look forward to hearing from you
